At Nāst, we see projects and initiatives as the engines that turn ambitious ideas into tangible impact. In an innovation ecosystem, these efforts act as bridges between vision and reality — bringing people, technologies and resources together to tackle pressing challenges, test solutions in real environments, and generate measurable results. By designing and driving collaborative initiatives across sustainable energy, advanced materials, mobility, and software, we create dynamic arenas where experiments become scalable outcomes and where every partner contributes to shaping the future.
Current initatives at Nāst
To accelerate innovation within our four key areas we drive various initiatives and projects through events, workshops, meetings and more with invited experts and industry leaders.
Nāst Energy Lab
Nāst Energy Lab is a real-world energy platform born out of partnerships at Nāst, where collaboration turns into fully operational power systems that can be proven, measured, and scaled. A neutral, industrial arena where we through collaboration show how Sweden can address the power challenge through smart energy systems.
In April 2026 we are launching the platforms first project: From Parking to Power. The initiative is one of Europe’s largest Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) installations. Together with Buddy Energy, Volvo Cars and Steptura/Vectura, we connect buildings, batteries and cars into a local power system - demonstrating what’s possible when individual solutions are interconnected to systems and delivering measurable societal value here and now.
Nāst Material Lab
A global hub transforming ideas into innovative platforms for materials application research, scaling, and industrialization. A neutral arena that brings together the entire value chain and enables collaboration between actors. Since spring 2025, we have gathered 30+ companies working together with the purpose:
- Reduce climate impact and secure raw material supply.
- Create new business models for circularity and efficiency.
- Strengthen Swedish industry's competitiveness and exports.
Nāst Learning Lab
In Nāst Talent- we are developing a Learning Lab for for system innovators and what we call "radical makers". The program is designed to address the skills gap required for industry transformation.
Massiv+
A cross-industry partnership driving actionable solutions toward net-zero emissions through resolving the pain-points of GHG emission data reporting. Companies and organisations involved in this initiative includes Microsoft, Alfa Laval, Sandvik, SKF, IKEA, Volvo, LKAB and OVAKO.
